After 18 months of peace on the international border (IB) and Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Rangers on Tuesday broke the ceasefire and indulged in firing at a BSF patrol in the Arnia sector of Jammu.
BSF spokesman DIG, SPS Sandhu, said that during the meeting commanders of both the border guarding forces discussed various border related issues.
BSF delegation was led by Ajay Suryavanshi, Commandant, and Pakistan delegation was led by Wing commander Lt. Colonel Aquil of 13 Wing Chenab Rangers.
According to DIG BSF SPS Sandhu, the BSF delegation lodged a very strong protest on drone activities by Pakistan authorities in the Jammu Area.
Pakistan Rangers appreciated the humane approach of the BSF.
"BSF has retaliated strongly and effectively. A Pakistan Ranger was killed and five were injured in the retaliatory firing by our troops," official sources said.
A BSF officer said that sweets were exchanged at five points on the International Border between the border guarding forces of the two countries.
