The participants of the meeting also noted that the number of patients having COVID-19 symptoms was on a decline, while people's movement across Pakistan had been reduced due to the 542 lockdowns enforced in 20 cities.
The ministry said that 86,906 patients have so far recovered from the disease, while still 2,729 were in critical condition.
According to the ministry of national health services, 148 more people died due to the deadly virus in the country, taking the death toll to 3,903.
The minister said the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) had expedited its registration process of new drugs being introduced as potential treatments for COVID-19.
Pakistan has witnessed a sharp rise in the number of confirmed cases since the government lifted a weeks-long lockdown across the country last month, saying that 25 per cent of the country's total population was facing harsh financial constraints due to lockdown.
The Prime Minister's address came after the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases hit 100,000 in the country.
