The four Padma Vibhushan recipients are -- CDS General Bipin Rawat (Civil Service, Posthumous), Prabha Atre (Art), Kalyan Singh (Public Affairs, Posthumous) and Radhyashyam Khemka (Literature & Education, Posthumous).
The nominations can be from among women, SC/STs, “divyang” persons and those who are doing selfless service to society.
The CM thanked all the doctors and healthcare workers who relentlessly gave in everything they could to save lives during one of the biggest crises humanity has ever seen.
The award seeks to recognize achievements in all fields of activities or disciplines where an element of public service is involved.
The Prime Minister later wished those who were awarded Padma Awards -- one of the highest civilian honours of India announced annually on the eve of Republic Day.
