In all, the President conferred 128 Padma Awards in a glittering ceremony. The list comprises 4 Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan and 107 Padma Shri Awards.
The four Padma Vibhushan recipients are -- CDS General Bipin Rawat (Civil Service, Posthumous), Prabha Atre (Art), Kalyan Singh (Public Affairs, Posthumous) and Radhyashyam Khemka (Literature & Education, Posthumous).
The nominations can be from among women, SC/STs, “divyang” persons and those who are doing selfless service to society.

The award seeks to recognize achievements in all fields of activities or disciplines where an element of public service is involved.
