90.69 LMT of paddy arrives in Punjab mandis: Centre

A total quantity of 90.69 LMT of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Punjab as on November 2, 2024, said the Ministry of Consumer Affairs on Sunday. Out of this, 85.41 LMT have been procured by the state agencies and the FCI.

Govt hikes procurement price of paddy

The state government has increased the minimum support price (MSP) of common paddy from Rs 2,040 to Rs 2,183 per quintal. In addition to this, an additional Rs 20 per quintal will be given above this MSP if a farmer sells the paddy in the centralised procurement centres (CPCs), district procurement centres (DPCS) and mobile CPCs.

Paddy worth Rs 47,644 cr bought at MSP benefitting 13.5 lakh farmers

Paddy procurement for Kharif marketing season 2022-23 (October-September) is progressing smoothly in 13 States/Union Territories -- Punjab, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, J-K, Kerala, Telangana, Haryana, and Tamil Nadu with purchase of over 231 lakh tonne.
