As per the report, it is not clear whether the results simply support previous findings that PCR tests are inherently more sensitive, or if the lateral flow tests are less accurate at detecting Omicron.
At present, Karnataka stands at the second place from the earlier fourth in terms of overall vaccinations in the country.
"Omicron is already in the community. Our estimates are that more than 70 per cent are Omicron cases. We cannot do genome sequencing for all," said director of public health and family welfare Dr G Srinivasa Rao.
