Three of the new cases were travellers who arrived from "at risk" countries while nine were from other countries.
Also in the same period, a total of 11,10,855 tests were conducted across the country. India has, so far, conducted over 67.89 crore cumulative tests.
He further said that according to the experts the Omicron variant is less dangerous than the Delta variant.
