The government has planned to set up a dedicated service provider hub in NER to support the requirement of Oil and Gas Industry in collaboration with state governments targeting to increase oil and gas production from the current 9 MMTOE (Million Metric Ton of Oil and equivalent) to 18 MMTOE in next five years, said Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Guwahati on Friday.
"The internship program offered by AICTE will empower and fine-tune the skills of job aspirants in the country. Through this collaborative program, AICTE will offer internship opportunities to more than 1,00,000 students and make them ready to join the national and international oil and gas industry," said Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe.
Its advice draws on analysis of how more than 50 countries, states or provinces -- from the US to Nigeria, from Iraq to China and Russia -- have tackled methane emissions from a regulatory perspective.
