The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of a 25-year-old woman committing suicide alleging sexual harassment by a man who brought her to his apartment in Hyderabad for surrogacy.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf issued the 24-hour returnable notices to the respondents during preliminary hearing of the PIL at Jabalpur on Monday.
