North Korea's Defence Minister has reaffirmed "invincible" friendship with Russia during a banquet celebrating Russia's Defender of the Fatherland Day, hosted by the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang, state media reported Friday.
North Korea on Thursday expressed outrage over the move by the United States to bolster another nuclear alliance in the Asia-Pacific region.
Following the talks between the United States and Russia on ending the war in Ukraine, President Donald Trump expressed his belief that Russia wants to put an end to the conflict, citing the toll the war has taken on soldiers, including Ukrainians, Russians, as well as North Koreans.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has accused the US of standing behind the world's disputes, reaffirming the country's policy to further develop its nuclear forces, the North's state media reported on Sunday.
Meanwhile, North Korea on Thursday warned the US not to meddle in inter-Korean relations if it wants to avoid experiencing an unspecified 'hair-raiser' and hold November's presidential election smoothly.
When the South refused to restart the ventures, calling on the North to first move towards denuclearization, North Korea turned increasingly harsh towards Mr Moon’s government.
"We urge the DPRK to return to diplomacy and cooperation", the spokesperson further added.
The threats come with inter-Korean ties at a standstill, despite three summits between the North's Kim Jong Un and the South's President Moon Jae-in in 2018.
China pressed ahead with the legislation despite the US warnings that it could revoke Hong Kong's trade privileges.
