The uncle of the victim told the police that his newphew was assaulted by the brothers for reprimanding them for harassing a girl in the street.
According to police, the suspect, Ali Hassan—who had changed his name to Ajay Verma after marriage—was also planning to kill the deceased’s wife but was caught before he could act further.
A family get-together turned into a tragedy on Sunday when a heated exchange over a business dispute ended in a shootout in Sonia Vihar, North East Delhi that took the life of one of them.
According to the police, they received a call on Saturday night, wherein the caller stated that his sister was allegedly strangled by an auto rickshaw driver, with whom she was in a live-in-relationship.

The deceased, a resident of Kabir Nagar, succumbed to a gunshot injury on his back during treatment at a hospital.
