The North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) will use 'Nishchay Yan,' a free ambulance service for expectant women and sick infants, to ferry deceased patients.
There had been allegations against the NBMCH of delay in handing over the facility to the ICMR-NICED after completion of the necessary formalities.
NBMCH authorities have said they are planning to seek intervention from administration to fix a uniform fare chart for private ambulances.
