On Sunday, PM Morrison visited firefighters battling bushfire crisis as he apologised for a Hawaiian holiday that ended early after public outrage.
His absence this week, as well as his initial refusal to confirm his whereabouts, has drawn condemnation and protests.
Sydney has endured weeks bathed in toxic smoke as hundreds of blazes have raged across the countryside, with hospitals recording a 25 per cent increase in the number of people visiting emergency departments last week.
Dozens of fires also burn in the neighbouring state of Queensland and authorities had ordered an evacuation in towns such as Noosa North Shore and Woodgate.
Firefighters have followed the crisis across four states as extreme temperatures and high winds sparked fires in new areas.
