Under this arrangement, NIA and IndiGo will work together towards developing and strengthening the air connectivity within Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
UP Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra disclosed that the airport will be dedicated to the public in September 2024 and flights will start immediately thereafter.
The MMCH will be a first of its kind in India, comprising Integrated Cargo Terminal (ICT) and Integrated Warehousing & Logistics Zone (IWLZ).A ICT will handle both domestic & international cargo with dedicated terminals; additionally will be managing express courier shipments and a Coolport facility for perishables, pharmaceuticals & other temperature-sensitive cargo.
Six villages -- Bajauta Rajawaha, Rajwaha, Dayanatpur Rajawah, Kishrepur Alpika, and Pathvaya Nala -- are likely to be shifted for the purpose. The irrigation department will oversee and facilitate the shifting process, an official said.
