Bihar's beloved folk singer Sharda Sinha will be laid to rest with state honours, as announced by CM Nitish Kumar, following her passing on November 5.
Leaders of the JD(U), BJP and smaller partners Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha met at Kumar’s 1, Anne Marg residence for the meeting.
After being stopped by the police, Akhilesh paid tribute to JP Narayan by garlanding a statue of him outside his residence in Lucknow.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has inspected the construction of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi four-lane highway and directed officials to complete the work expeditiously.
“Please spare me. Neither I hold any such ambition (for the President’s office) nor am I interested in getting involved in such talks,” the Chief Minister told the media.
At least three ministers, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Ashok Chaudhary, and Shrawan Kumar, came before the media to clarify that Kumar is not very much “eager” to be projected as the Presidential candidate, although he happens to be the “most-suited” candidate for this post and aptly deserves it.
The JD-U is yet to announce its candidate for the RS although the nomination process starts tomorrow and will continue till 30 May. The elections will be held on 30 June.
JD-U currently has 46 MLAs in the 243-member Assembly after the merger of a Lok Janshakti Party MLA. Besides, it has the support of an independent candidate as well.
“We will together hold a caste census,” Kumar and Tejashwi are seen saying in the poster as the PM replies, “Then, I will send CBI”.
