The finance minister was speaking at the inauguration of the first PG Certificate Course on International Commercial & Investment Treaty Arbitration in New Delhi.
Coming out as a response to the opposition claims that the Budget favoured Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled states, especially poll-bound Bihar, she said no state had been neglected under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Parliament was adjourned on Thursday and will reconvene on March 10, in the second and final half of the Budget session.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Thursday introduced the Income Tax Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha.
"We will soon have a new Data Privacy Bill, which will be a product of consultations and will address every such concern most of us had on the privacy Bill," said FM Nirmala Sitharaman.
She told that she did not cross limits of parliamentary conduct while questioning Kamareddy district Collector about the share of the Centre and the state in supply of ration through public distribution system.
Finance Minister said that the PMJDY has an expanded coverage of 67 per cent in rural or semi-urban areas.
"So, I fully credit the people of India for this. Even against adversity, we are able to stand up and be recognised as the fastest growing economy," she said.
