The news came three days after President Nicolas Maduro hinted that his rival was "in hiding" at a diplomatic location.
President Nicols Maduro ordered a nationwide lockdown shortly after the first cases, and he recently extended it until mid-June, hoping to contain the virus' spread.

Venezuela has been witnessing extreme political tensions since January when Maduro was sworn in for another six-year term after winning elections that were described as "fraudulent" by the opposition.

UN Human Rights chief Michelle Bachelet visited Venezuela last month and will present the report to the UN Human Rights Council on Friday.
