India records 937 new Covid cases, 9 deaths in last 24 hours

All business establishments have been asked to ensure no overcrowding in their premises and adherence of Covid appropriate behaviour.
At least five districts-Keonjhar (1), Kalahandi (5), Dhenkanal (7), Nayagarh (8) and Puri (9)- with single-digit active cases are on the verge of figuring in the covid-free list. Meanwhile, all the 30 districts in the State have turned green with active cases remaining below 1,000 in each of the districts.
The active cases stand at 1,11,472. A decrease of 10,409 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
According to the latest Delhi government's health bulletin, the infection positivity rate stood at 1. 50 per cent.
The death figure, however, reflects a poor picture as 865 people died of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours leading the total Covid-19 related deaths to 5,02,008.
The latest confirmed cases were all locally transmitted, and more than half of them were detected in Ulan Bator, the hardest-hit area by the virus and home to over half of the country's population of 3.4 million.
As many as 97,762 tests were conducted across the city.
Speaking on the availability of Covid-19 beds, Kejriwal said that around 3,000 beds have cleared up in the past 10 days, indicating that the second wave was easing in the city.
"Hospitals have a sufficient number of beds as of now. The occupancy is around 20 per cent now, 80 per cent of the beds are unoccupied. We are monitoring this, if occupancy increases, we will increase the number of beds," he added.
