Hitting out at the BJP, the National Conference (NC) President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that the saffron party excels in rhetoric, but when it comes to action, they fall short.
Speaking to reporters during her visit to Budgam district, Mehbooba expressed dissatisfaction with the resolution, stating that it failed to address the abrogation of Article 370 on 5 August 2019.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, on Wednesday, described the resolution on the restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir moved by the National Conference (NC) in the legislative assembly as “half-hearted” and “lacking conviction”.
The resolution, passed by voice vote, urged the Centre to engage in dialogue with elected representatives to restore the region's special status.
For weeks National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been extensively campaigning in areas near the Line of Control in Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency in North Kashmir from where he is contesting this time.
Mir was addressing an election rally in favour of the party candidate for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, Zafar Iqbal Manhas at Mendhar along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Poonch district of the Jammu division.
The Kashmir valley is, these days echoing with a high pitch campaign for the three Lok Sabha seats across the valley but the interesting key poll plank of the regional parties is of calling each other a “stooge of BJP”.
Omar was ostensibly referring to Mehbooba Mufti who has filed her nomination for the seat as PDP candidate against NC’s Gujjar spiritual leader Mian Altaf.
The minister also accused the Congress, National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of staging fake encounters and handing over guns in the hands of the Kashmiri youth and these parties are responsible for encouraging terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
