Hitting out at the BJP, the National Conference (NC) President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that the saffron party excels in rhetoric, but when it comes to action, they fall short.
Speaking to reporters during her visit to Budgam district, Mehbooba expressed dissatisfaction with the resolution, stating that it failed to address the abrogation of Article 370 on 5 August 2019.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, on Wednesday, described the resolution on the restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir moved by the National Conference (NC) in the legislative assembly as “half-hearted” and “lacking conviction”.
The resolution, passed by voice vote, urged the Centre to engage in dialogue with elected representatives to restore the region's special status.
It is not even a month since the NC came to power, and Omar's trusted MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, who recently won the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat on NC’s ticket, has created ripples in the political scene of Kashmir.
The Omar Abdullah-led National Conference (NC) government is learnt to have made up its mind to offer the post of deputy speaker to the BJP, the second largest party in the J&K Assembly.
Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the National Conference (NC)-Congress coalition government, the President has revoked the central rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
A gazette notification regarding this order was issued by the Union Home Ministry.
Congratulating the National Conference (NC) led alliance for victory in J&K polls, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday stressed that the “Constitution of India is our guiding light and I urge all to work together for growth of J&K and welfare of people”.
