At least three hardcore women naxalites were shot dead in an encounter with security forces while some others managed to escape into the forest with injuries in the naxal-infested Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.
The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on Sunday described the recent neutralisation of 31 Naxalites by encounter with security forces as a major success in the direction of making India Naxalite-free.
According to the police, the encounter took place on late night Monday in the jungles near the Kerejhari village under Lanji Police station limits in Balaghat.

The deceased has been identified as Sainath Naroti (26) was a native of Bhamragarh village in Gadchiroli.
A Revanth Reddy had said there would be hardly any consequence if Naxalites decide to blow up Pragathi Bhavan, the residence cum camp office of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.
It is also true that the insurgent has to succeed once to gain notoriety, while regular successes of security forces are brushed aside. The ambush on an army convoy in Chandel in Manipur leading to 20 dead in June 2015 is a case in point.
