K2-18b: Astronomers claim strongest evidence of alien life on this distant planet
Researchers estimate that an additional 16 to 24 hours of JWST observations could provide the data needed to reach this five-sigma benchmark.

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi among several leaders congratulated the Crew-9 astronauts, including Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams, as they safely returned to Earth on Wednesday.
PM Modi said that Space exploration is about pushing the limits of human potential, daring to dream, and having the courage to turn those dreams into reality.
A video shared by NASA captures the dramatic moment when the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft touched down in the ocean.
Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, along with NASA’s Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, have returned to Earth after a lengthy journey that turned a planned eight-day mission into a nine-month in space.
The mission is the second of the six certified, crew missions NASA, and SpaceX will fly as a part of the agency`s Commercial Crew Programme. Crew-1 successfully docked into the ISS in November, last year.
"This goal aligns with President Biden's commitment to pursue a comprehensive approach to advancing equity for all," said the US space agency.
Launched 20 years ago on April 7, the orbiter, which takes its name from Arthur C. Clarke's classic sci-fi novel "2001: A Space Odyssey", was sent to map the composition of the Martian surface, providing a window to the past so scientists could piece together how the planet evolved.
"#MarsHelicopter touchdown confirmed! Its 293 million mile (471 million km) journey aboard @NASAPersevere ended with the final drop of 4 inches (10 cm) from the rover's belly to the surface of Mars today," NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, tweeted late on Saturday.
"Come fly with us. #MarsHelicopter is preparing to do something that's never been done: controlled, powered flight on another planet. Takeoff is now slated for no earlier than April 11, with data arriving on Earth on April 12,"
