Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer held a telephone conversation on Tuesday before announcing the successful conclusion of the India–UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), according to an official statement.
“I want to tell the Chief Minister—he is a strong pillar of the INDIA alliance—Shashi Tharoor is also sitting here, and today’s event will give sleepless nights to several people,” PM Modi remarked, drawing attention to the perceived contradictions within the opposition ranks.
In his keynote address, PM Modi also reflected on India's growing cultural influence, citing examples of renowned figures in Indian cinema from time to time.
'The sad part is that the government does not care about the loss of lives,' he said.
'The unplanned lockdown was the gift of one man's ego, which led to the spread of coronavirus across the country,' he said.
'Our soldiers are standing firm at the borders with a lot of courage, passion and strong resolve to protect their motherland,' PM said.
He also said that Indian government is trying to get vaccines from all across the world from wherever it can be managed.
The projects include the Durgapur-Banka section of the Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur Pipeline Augmentation Project and two LPG Bottling Plants.
