Supreme Court on Friday declined to consider a plea filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari in which he sought the transfer of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's petition, challenging his election from the Nandigram constituency, outside the state.
Adhikari had earlier moved the HC alleging that the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government was abusing the police machinery by registering six FIRs against him in four different police stations.
Miss Banerjee's counsel Sanjay Bose said they sought an order striking down the election of Nandigram Assembly.
On the questions of Singur and Nandigram, instead of apologising for them, and forgetting that they were instrumental for the CPM's defeat in 2011, the new narrative was that Buddhadeb Bhattacharya's actions were essentially sound, though there were some mistakes. They even forgot to mention that they were not mistakes but blunders.
Minakshi has managed to stir a revolution in the hearts of Nandigram people with her gut-punching rhetoric against opponents.
Meanwhile, the mercury soared high in Satengabari in the far end of Nandigram II where CPI-M candidate Minakshi Mukherjee reminded people how Trinamul and BJP are deluding them and turning the knife inside as Nandigram bleeds from a thousand cuts.
In the letter, TMC spokesperson Derek O’ Brien has written, “It has come to our knowledge that Suvendu Adhikari, the candidate fielded by BJP in Nandigram has been harbouring criminals, who are non-residents of Nandigram."
In a letter to the Election Commission, the BJP camp has demanded that her treatment details at SSKM be brought to the public so that people could know exactly what had happened to her health condition after the incident at Nandigram.
Mamata Banerjee is contesting the upcoming West Bengal Assembly polls from Nandigram from where the BJP has fielded Suvendu Adhikari.
