Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Friday welcomed the order of the Supreme Court for an independent probe by a Special Investigation Team comprising CBI, state police and representatives of FSSAI into the allegations of adulterated Tirupati laddu.
During a review meeting with his ministers and officials over the adulterated laddu issue, N. Chandrababu Naidu warned about strict action against those disturbing the sanctity of the Tirumala.
He said that after examining the report, suitable action will be taken accordingly.
At a day-long conference with district collectors and other senior officials at the Secretariat in Velagapudi, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister announced the launch of “Pedala Sevalo” (in the service of the poor) programme.
Distributing portfolios among his ministers Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu retained Law and Order while handing over the key departments of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and the Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Department to BJP’s Y Satya Kumar.
Today, in the 68-page long judgement, the court said: “The criminal petition is devoid of merit and is accordingly dismissed and the consequential reliefs sought are dismissed.”
During his three-day visit to Kuppam, the former chief minister repeatedly pointed out that while the YSRCP was being allowed to hold meetings and roadshows, all restrictions were being placed only on the Opposition TDP.
