"We hope the government will consider this proposal positively," Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole said.

Cracks appear to be widening within the Opposition's Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance as Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi hinted at severing ties over a controversial post by Shiv Sena (UBT) related to the Babri Masjid demolition.
The BJP-backed Mahayuti's landslide victory in the Maharashtra assembly elections has surprised both the Mahayuti as well as the Congress-backed Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
The handsome victory for the Mahayuti in Maharashtra clearly suggests that the Narendra Modi magic continues to work for the NDA which trounced the Opposition alliance that was clearly a frontrunner in the battle at the hustings in India's wealthiest state just about five months back.
NCP-SP Maharashtra state president Jayant Patil and Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat have already begun contacting many independent candidates, just in case the MVA falls short of a majority.
The PM said that “the MVA stands for multi-crore scams, extortion and token money. It stands for transfer posting racket and is completely immersed in scandals, loot and corruption,” in his speech at the poll rally for the Mahayuti candidates in Akola.
The Prime Minister said, "We entered politics to serve the public. For some people, the foundation of politics is looting the people. The intention of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is to loot the people."
The MVA’s poll guarantees are likely to be announced during the Swabhiman Sabha event at Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex ground.
The Congress on Saturday released its second list of 23 candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra. According to a communiqué issued by the Congress general secretary in-charge of Organisation KC Venugopal, the party's Central Election Commission (CEC) has selected the candidates.
He said, "This is completely different from the BJP-NDA model, where there is an agenda of serving the people, a positive approach to governance, and no war of words."
