Asserting that the Madhya Pradesh Police has set high standards of devotion to duty in line with its motto of ‘Deshbhakti Janseva’, the state Governor Mangubhai Patel said on Monday that the efficiency and behavior of the police ensures that the common people feel safe and secure.
"According to the media report, carried on September 26, the students came into contact with a live wire connected to a water pump inside the tank while cleaning it. They were spotted lying in the tank by the villagers, who reportedly informed the hostel authorities," the NHRC said in a statement on Monday.

The decision was approved in the meeting of the state cabinet presided by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at Bhopal on Tuesday.

The proposal was considered totally contrary to the principles of sustainable development, as its implementation would have meant demolition of more than 2,000 inhabited government houses and the cutting down of thousands of trees, most of which are many years old.
The state cabinet formally approved the decision during its meeting presided over by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav here on Tuesday. Dr Yadav had earlier made an announcement in this regard.
Both incidents occurred in the Betul district of the state in a span of three days
