The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, indicating heavy rainfall at isolated places, and an orange alert for Thane, Palghar and Raigad, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.
As southwest monsoon advanced over Mumbai and heavy rainfall with lightning and thunderstorm lashed the city on Sunday, BMC officials have predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for Monday with a possibility of occasional intense spells.
This year, the Southwest Monsoon reached India on June 8 with its onset over Kerala, a week after the normal date of June 1.
The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal
The Communicable Disease Control Campaign will be held from July 1 to July 31 and the Dastak campaign from July 17 to 31 throughout the state.
