Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Saturday claimed that the dream of a ''Welfare State'' envisioned by the framers of the Constitution has been realised between 2014 and 2024 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed that the short term gains on certain financial assets shall attract a tax rate of 20%, while that on all other financial assets and all non-financial assets shall continue to attract the applicable tax rate.
