The Manipuri lifter, who turned 30 on Thursday, lifted a total of 199 kgs (88 in snatch and 111 in clean and jerk) at the South Paris Arena to find herself just outside the podium places.

One of the four individual Indian athletes hoping for a repeat of their success from the Tokyo Olympics and win back-to-back medals, weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu is the lone weightlifter representing the country in the Paris Olympic Games.
After a horror debut at Rio 2016, Mirabai, pushing 30, made impressive comebacks with sterling shows at global competitions.
“I am determined to win a second Olympic medal. It will help me overcome the agony of missing out on major medals due to injuries," said Mirabai.
Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu finished sixth in the 49kg weight category at the Asian Weightlifting Championships, here on Friday.
The 28-year old Manipuri, Chanu thus earned the distinction of being the first person to take the honour twice.
India had their best medal haul of seven in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and that has raised the expectations from Indian athletes for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.
India won 10 medals in weightlifting, containing three gold, three silver and four bronze awards.
