According to the IIP data, factory output had registered a growth of 4.9 per cent in July 2019.
The data showed that as of July 1, out of 1,683 central sector infrastructure projects costing Rs 150 crore and above, 412 projects reported cost overruns while 471 have been delayed.
NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said India is creating an adequate number of jobs for new entrants, but 'probably not high-quality jobs'.
The issue hogged the limelight after two independent members of the National Statistical Commission -- PC Mohanan and JV Meenakshi -- resigned on January 28 over a disagreement with the Government on certain issues.
Regarding the announcement of the back-series data, the ministry said the NSC had itself urged it to finalise and release it.
NSC acting chairperson PC Mohanan and another member JV Meenakshi tendered their resignation on January 28, 2019, an official said.
