According to the Health Ministry's data, the total number of active cases in the country has declined to 51,314 from the earlier 53,852.
The country's active caseload stands at 0.13 per cent, which was 0.14 per cent on Wednesday.
Among the 11 countries that are part of the World Health Organization's 'High Burden to High Impact' initiative, only India has reported a decline in malaria cases during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The country conducted 1,87,983 tests in the last 24 hours and so far a total of 91.07 crore tests have been done.
"The expert committee has recommended making pregnant women eligible to receive Covid-19 vaccines after detailed analysis," said Dr Vandana Gurnani, Additional Secretary & Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), while addressing a virtual session.
In addition, the Central government has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the states and the UTs.
