This big milestone of the scheme is coming in its 10th year of rollout of the scheme.
The government, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has finalised its borrowing programme for the second half (H2) of FY 2024-25.
In pursuance of the announcement made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the Direct Tax Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme, 2024 (referred as DTVSV, 2024) to resolve pending appeals in the case of income tax disputes.
The Union Government has cleared the path for allowing Indian companies to list securities directly at Gujarat International Finance Tec-city International Financial Services Centre (GIFT IFSC) with a minimum 10 per cent public float.
It further added that demonetisation was also a part of larger strategy for combating the menace of fake money, terror financing, black money and tax evasion.
A Finance Ministry release said Direct Tax collections up to November 10, 2022, show that gross collections are at Rs. 10.54 lakh crore, which is 30.69 per cent higher than the gross collections for the corresponding period of last year.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said that despite exogenous threats, India's well-targeted policy mix, accompanied by major structural reforms and a sound external balance sheet, have aided its growth to remain resilient.
"Indian economic performance in the first half of 2022-23 has been impressive compared to the world. As measured by PMI composite index, the economic activity level was higher for India at 56.7 compared to 51.0 for the World level during April-Sept 2022," said the economic review which was released on Saturday by the Finance Ministry.
The States which received the funds are Andhra Pradesh (Rs 136 crore), Chhattisgarh (Rs 109 crore), Maharashtra (Rs 799 crore), and Uttar Pradesh (Rs 720 crore), a statement from the ministry said on Wednesday evening.
