The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has already granted first-stage clearance of the site to the government of Himachal Pradesh for the development of the airport
Based on the traffic data provided by different domestic airlines, the passenger count reached an impressive milestone of 636.07 lakh during January-May 2023.
"Currently, there is no special programme in the government to encourage pilot training for women and backward classes including SCs/STs," Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation Gen (Dr) V K Singh said in the Lok Sabha.

Airport Operator shall provide the option to the passengers to either stay at the Waiting Lounge awaiting the test results or to proceed to designated Hotel(s) in order to isolate themselves till the test results are available.
This will further enhance the connectivity to remote and regional areas of the country.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has already declared that Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau will hold a detailed enquiry into the accident.
The civil aviation ministry on Thursday had announced that only one-third of domestic commercial flight operations would resume on May 25 in metros.
These flights have transported around 463.15 tons of supplies covering an aerial distance of over 2,73,275 km till date.
