The upcoming assembly by-elections in nine seats in Uttar Pradesh are being viewed as a litmus test for the BJP, following the party's recent setback against the Samajwadi Party and Congress alliance in the Lok Sabha elections.
Samajwadi Party faces the challenge of repeating the success they got in the Milkipur assembly seat in Ayodhya during the assembly and Lok Sabha elections. With its national general secretary and Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad ,after being elected as their MP, Samajwadi Party no longer has even a single MLA from the district.
Stressing the mantra "win the booth, win the election," CM Adityanath urged party workers to ramp up their efforts at the grassroots level for maximum impact.
Awadhesh Prasad had already resigned from Milkipur seat and now the Election Commission has to announce the by-election schedule.
