The Indian stock market rose in line with the Asian indices. Healthy buying was witnessed in metal, finance and banking stocks.
IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Maruti, Bajaj Finserv, PowerGrid and SBI were among the other major laggards.
Index-wise, the NSE Nifty50 traded at 10,980 points (1.54 p.m.), lower by 2.45 points or 0.02 per cent from the previous close.
