"Several generations have invested their lives into this party, then today the party has made its place in the hearts of the people," the Prime Minister said.
The party held a state-level workshop at Bhopal to inaugurate the campaign. MP BJP Chief V D Sharma said that the aim is to reach all the 64,781 polling booths across the state from 21 August to 31 August and make new members for the party.
He appealed to the DPYC to implement Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s thought of “Neta Bano-Neta Chuno” by enrolling a record number of youth.
BJP national president J P Nadda, in a video message on the occasion, urged people to join the party and help it defeat the “anti-people” TMC dispensation. He also accused the government of “mishandling” the COVID-19 situation in the state.
There are around a dozen AAP leaders hailing from various places in UP who have been elected to the Delhi assembly in the just-concluded polls.
The BJP launched its membership drive on July 6 and every constituency has been given a target.
BJP working President JP Nadda has set a target of 36 lakh new members for the party's membership drive in Uttar Pradesh.
