The Assam-Meghalaya border agreement, signed in March 2022, and the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh pact, inked in April 2022, set frameworks for addressing historical boundary tensions.

The counting of votes in Nagaland and Meghalaya along with that in Tripura, which went to the polls on February 16, will be taken up on March 2.
As per the ECI, the highest voter turnout was recorded at 17.82 percent in East Garo Hills.
