Delhi Capitals didn't sign a single player despite being in contention in the first two marquee sets of the Women's Premier League (WPL) player auction in Mumbai on Monday.
Currently, Australia leads the multi-format series 6-4 and India would be required to win all the three T20Is in order to register a victory in the series.
Lanning cited the opportunity to play alongside a young exciting group factored heavily in her decision to re-join the Stars.
"The resources are going to be a little bit less than what we're probably used to", she said.
