The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Cultures, Meenakshi Lekhi.
Concluding her speech, Lekhi chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ aloud and she asked the audience to do so. However, there was a lukewarm response from the audience.
Union Minister Lekhi also interacted with the beneficiaries of various central schemes and took a pledge with all present at the event to make the country a developed India with the participation of the public in the ongoing Amrit Kaal.
Union Ministers, Meenakshi Lekhi and Ashwini Kumar Choubey, on Sunday flagged off ISKCON's Shri Ram Padyatra from Delhi to Ayodhya.
She also added that there is a need to live for the country and work for its development. Renowned singer Sukriti Mathur performed patriotic songs.
She said the pursuance of partisan agenda rather than working towards strengthening the collective effort of the NAM countries has resulted in an increasing number of members having to disassociate themselves from NAM positions.
The two countries signed a cultural exchange programme for the period 2021-25 under which a 50-member strong Indian delegation comprising film personalities of India will be participating in the Tashkent Film Festival next week.
Lekhi will also meet the Minister of Culture of Portugal, Graca Maria da Fonseca, and the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries Zacarias da Costa.
This installation becomes the 2nd bust of the Vietnam President Ho Chi Minh to be installed in India. The first one is located in Kolkata.
