Ensuring adequate availability of medical oxygen, the state government on Friday announced that 400 oxygen plants have already been set up in Uttar Pradesh while work to get the other 155 plants functional is going on a war-footing.
Around 13 liquid medical oxygen plants and more than 110 pressure swing absorption oxygen plans are coming up in districts
Along with 2 Oxygen Generation plants of 1000 LPM capacity each, copper piping network and associated facilities like fire fighting system and automatic oxygen source changeover system were also inaugurated.
A liquid medical oxygen storage tank will also be installed at the NBMCH.
The project targeted to meet the current demand, manufacturing of medical oxygen as well as ensure that there is adequate supply of the lifesaving gas in the future.

In gratitude expressing gesture, Kejriwal has written a letter to the PM and thanked him for providing Delhi more than the required capacity.
"With the piping connection and testing ensured through a dry run scheduled for Wednesday, the two plants will start functioning latest by Wednesday evening," it said.
PM has directed that these plants should be made functional as soon as possible.
The move could add to the misery of the patients who are dying waiting for hospitalization as Delhi witnessed an unprecedented surge in new cases of the Covid-19 infection.
