Narang’s appointment came days after the BJP won the Mayoral and Deputy Mayoral polls in MCD. He is currently the Councillor of Ranjeet Nagar.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has renamed Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, near Kailash Colony Metro Station/A-18, Kailash Colony, as ‘Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Marg’.
The walkathon, led by the MCD Deputy Commissioner South Zone Dilkhush Meena, covered a distance of 3 km.
Challenging the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) following their victory in the Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that now BJP will be forced to deliver results instead of empty rhetoric.
Singh secured 133 votes defeating Mandeep Singh of Congress by 125 votes, who could only manage eight of the 142 votes cast. One vote was declared invalid.
He said the mayor had diverted Rs 1,500 crore funds from various departments to her privilege fund which is hampering the works at the departmental level.
She has also called for a detailed report on the budget allocations for road projects in the financial year 2024- 25.
The CM on Saturday hit out at the BJP, stating that the election conducted on Friday was unconstitutional and undemocratic, as the MCD Commissioner called a meeting on the orders of LG, while he has no such authority, she claimed.
BJP candidate Sunder Singh got all 115 votes of the party's councillors while AAP's Nirmala Kumari did not receive any votes.
Sachdeva said that no one can obstruct the election for the Standing Committee chairman important financial and administrative decisions in the corporation will be taken.
