Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Wednesday said the sanitation system in the national capital has completely “collapsed” under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Saturday said that it has cleared over 18000 metric tons of construction and demolition waste from prominent locations across the national capital during a drive conducted in the month of October.
She also raised concerns about the shortage of sanitation workers, particularly during the festival season, and instructed officials to ensure daily waste collection in densely populated neighborhoods.
The civic body said this coveted award, presented under the PM SVANidhi Scheme, is a recognition of its exceptional efforts and accomplishments in financial inclusion and empowering street vendors.
The MCD said that this year, 18019250 visits in houses have been done to detect mosquito breeding and in 43650 houses mosquito breeding was found.
In the meeting, she said, “During the rainy season, cases of vector-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya increase due to waterlogging. We need to be prepared in advance to avoid this situation.”
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Thursday said it is developing various parks in a bid to increase the green cover in the national capital.
The Delhi BJP spokesman accused the ruling party of running the civic body according to its whims rather than the Corporation Act.
