Leading the protest, Leader of the Opposition in MCD Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh warned of continued protest by the party leaders and gherao of the Mayor’s office if their demands are not met soon.
Mayor Shelly Oberoi announced that the polls for the post of mayor will be held in the next House meeting.

The election for mayor, deputy mayor, and six members of the standing committee of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) can finally take place, as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena has approved the proposal of convening the adjourned meeting on February 16.
The MCD was adjourned after Presiding officer Satya Sharma said the proceedings cannot be conducted amid sloganeering by both AAP and BJP councillors.
