The Punjab CM said bestowing the Bharat Ratna on Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev, Lala Lajpat Rai and others will enhance the prestige of this award.
Remembering the valour of all martyrs who gave their lives for the nation, the Chief Minister said that the nation would always be grateful for the valuable contribution and supreme sacrifices made by them during the freedom struggle.
The letter, written in Telugu, comes at a time when state unit of BJP is trying to build up public opinion against the state government on the issue and blaming the alliance between TRS and AIMIM for Rao’s refusal to observe the Liberation Day on 17 September befittingly.
He also paid tribute to Vijay Soren, a Jharkhand native who was martyred in the attack.
