The action will begin on Saturday from 4:00 pm with the qualifying race followed by the main race on Sunday from 2:30 pm on Eurosport and Eurosport HD.
Marquez, who secured his sixth premier category title last month, finished over a second clear of pole-sitter Quartararo who came second for the fifth time in his debut campaign.
The victory is Marquez's 55th in the premier class and makes him Honda's most successful rider as he moves ahead of Mick Doohan's 1998 record of 54 wins.
Spain's Maverick Vinales (Yamaha) had been the fastest in all the free practice sessions so far, but Marc Marquez (Honda) was on top on Saturday until the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira (KTM) suffered a high-speed crash.
Marquez has already secured his fourth consecutive world championship title. He now has a MotoGP pole position in every circuit on the calendar.
The 26-year-old won at Twin Ring Motegi twice in 2018 and 2016, and finished second in 2017, 2014 and 2013, while the only hiccup he faced there was when he came in fourth in 2015.
Marquez went into the race with such a comfortable lead that he did not necessarily need to finish first to clinch the championship.
His teammate Jorge Lorenzo said last year's edition of the Thai GP was not good for him as he crashed and did not complete the race.
