The AAP, on Thursday, held protests against the remark of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Dr. B R Ambedkar across 70 assembly segments of the national capital.
Sisodia, the AAP nominee from Jangpura Assembly constituency, made the statement after inaugurating his election office in Hari Nagar Ashram.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed a plea filed by senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia seeking relaxation of the bail condition requiring him to report to the Investigating Officer semi-weekly.
Former deputy chief minister has been moved to Jangpura constituency and the AAP has fielded educationist Awadh Ojha, who recently joined the party from the said seat. Sisodia has represented this constituency thrice.
Sisodia has been shifted to the Jangpura constituency, while Patparganj, his previous stronghold, has been assigned to Awadh Ojha.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj earlier today claimed that Sisodia was lodged in Jail No.1 of Tihar, which he alleged is home to some of the most dreaded criminals and murderers.
The summons comes close on the heels of former Deputy CM of Delhi and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia's arrest by CBI in the case.
“Widespread perception that Sisodia being targeted for political reasons needs to be dispelled,” Pinarayi Vijayan told Narendra Modi.
On the other hand, he pointed out that "the PM has thrown patriots like Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain in jail on the one hand”.
The Delhi chief minister’s remark came a day after nine Opposition leaders of eight political parties wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the arrest of former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.
