He said that in the entire Manipur the fight is going on between two communities and no effort is being made to resolve the issue between both the groups.
The 21-member delegation of the grand Opposition alliance, on Saturday, arrived on a two-day visit to the state, which has seen ethnic strife and violence since May 3.
After setting foot to the state, the Opposition leaders said the purpose of their visit was to "represent the demands of the people".
On the two-day visit by the Opposition delegation, the Manipur Governor said, "I would appeal to them to contribute towards restoring peace to the state."
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who is part of the 21-member delegation, said, "The PM hasn't even made an attempt to visit Manipur as yet. Only after receiving a jolt from the Opposition did the Centre wake up to the situation."
The visit by the I.N.D.I.A delegation comes even as Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla accepted a motion of no cofidence moved by the Opposition against the Centre over the Manipur situation.
The opposition has decided to send a delegation of 21 Members of Parliament from 16 parties to the state.
Following his visit to the relief camps in Moirang, Rahul will be back in Imphal where he will meet civil society organisation leaders and like minded party leaders.
