Congress on Friday said BJP national president JP Nadda’s letter to party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Manipur situation was full of "falsehoods".
He referred to the Mahayuti government as a "50 khoke (cash boxes in Marathi), everything's okay" government.
The Congress leader accused the BJP of deliberately allowing the state to burn, claiming that at least 17 people had lost their lives since November 7.
Promises matter in elections because voters lack rationality. As election history shows, freebies do get votes. Hitherto, it was a time tested method of electoral success for a desperate opposition.
During the meeting at the Congress headquarters, they discussed strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls in the state.
Kharge said Mr Modi tried to break the Constitution and that is why they are holding the protest.
"This belated whitewashing exercise is of no consequence as countless youths continue to suffer!" Kharge said.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge asked the PM when the NEET-UG examination would be cancelled.
The Congress chief noted that each statue and its location across the Parliament House Complex held immense value and significance.
