Maha: Capital expenditure estimated to be Rs 93,165.52 cr in 2025-26

The Maharashtra government’s capital expenditure on development works especially for asset creation is estimated to reduce to 11 per cent of gross state domestic product (GSDP) at Rs 93,165.52 crore in 2025-26 against 13 per cent at Rs 1,09,031.48 crore as per the revised estimate for 2024-25.

Amid the political row in Maharashtra over the Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi praising Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that it was not only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but the people of the state as well as the country which echoed the same sentiment that the tomb/grave of the Mughal ruler should be demolished.

Global food protectionism is likely to see a new chapter being written this year as India, which in recent years had emerged as a significant sugar exporter, braces for a drop in production.
